(“Canobi,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting the privacy of individuals who visit our website (www.canobi.com), use our Canobi.ONE platform, interact with our Drop-n-Grow modular facilities, or otherwise engage with our products and services. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable Canadian provincial privacy legislation.

By accessing our website or using our services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the practices described herein, please discontinue use of our services.

2. Definitions

Personal Information means information about an identifiable individual, as defined under PIPEDA, but does not include the name, title, business address, or telephone number of an employee of an organization.

Services means all products and services offered by Canobi Technologies Inc., including the Canobi.ONE platform, Canobi-Lite, Drop-n-Grow modular facilities, agricultural sensor and automation systems, and any related support or consulting services.

3. Accountability

Canobi Technologies Inc. is responsible for all personal information under its control. We have designated a Privacy Officer who is accountable for our compliance with this Privacy Policy and with PIPEDA. Questions, concerns, or complaints regarding our handling of personal information may be directed to our Privacy Officer using the contact information in Section 13 of this policy.

4. Information We Collect

4.1 Information You Provide Directly

We may collect the following personal information when you create an account, request a quote, purchase our products, subscribe to our services, or contact us:

  • Name, job title, and organization name
  • Email address, phone number, and mailing address
  • Billing and payment information (processed through secure third-party payment processors)
  • Farm or facility location data, including GPS coordinates and addresses
  • Agricultural operational data you input into the Canobi.ONE platform (crop types, schedules, environmental parameters)
  • Communications and correspondence with Canobi, including support requests

4.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you visit our website or use our platform, we may automatically collect:

  • IP address, browser type, operating system, and device information
  • Pages visited, time spent, referring URLs, and clickstream data
  • Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Section 10)

4.3 Sensor and IoT Data

Our products, including Drop-n-Grow facilities and connected agricultural sensors, may collect environmental and operational data such as temperature, humidity, light levels, soil moisture, VPD readings, nutrient levels, and equipment performance metrics. While this data primarily relates to agricultural operations rather than identifiable individuals, to the extent any such data can be linked to an identifiable individual, it will be treated as personal information under this policy.

5. Purposes for Collecting Personal Information

We collect and use personal information for the following purposes:

  • To provide, operate, maintain, and improve our products and services
  • To process transactions and manage your account
  • To communicate with you about your account, orders, technical support, and service updates
  • To provide agricultural intelligence, analytics, and recommendations through the Canobi.ONE platform
  • To respond to your inquiries and provide customer support
  • To send you marketing communications, newsletters, and promotional materials (with your consent)
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms of service
  • To protect the security of our platform, services, and users

You may provide consent expressly (for example, by completing a form or agreeing to terms) or it may be implied based on the circumstances (for example, when you voluntarily provide information in the course of a transaction).

You may withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions, by contacting our Privacy Officer. Please note that withdrawing consent may affect our ability to provide certain services to you. We will advise you of the implications of withdrawal upon request.

We will not, as a condition of providing a product or service, require you to consent to the collection, use, or disclosure of personal information beyond what is necessary to fulfill the legitimate purpose for which the information is being collected.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by law. When personal information is no longer needed, we will securely destroy, erase, or anonymize it.

We make reasonable efforts to ensure that personal information in our possession is accurate, complete, and up to date as necessary for the purposes for which it is to be used. We encourage you to contact us to update your information if it changes or if you believe our records are inaccurate.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact our Privacy Officer using the information in Section 13. We will respond to your request within 30 days, as required under PIPEDA. In certain circumstances, a nominal fee may apply for access requests.

12. Third-Party Services and International Transfers

We may use third-party service providers located outside of Canada to help deliver our services (for example, cloud hosting, payment processing, or analytics). Where personal information is transferred to a jurisdiction outside Canada, we take reasonable steps to ensure that it receives a comparable level of protection through contractual arrangements or other means.

Our website may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.

15. Provincial Privacy Legislation

In addition to PIPEDA, we comply with applicable provincial privacy legislation, including but not limited to Quebec’s Act Respecting the Protection of Personal Information in the Private Sector (Law 25), Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), and British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). Where provincial legislation applies and provides additional protections, we will comply with the more protective standard.

16. Children’s Privacy

Our services are not directed at individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child, we will take steps to delete such information promptly.
