Open Application - Build the Future of Indoor Farming at Canobi

Maxville, Canada

At Canobi, we’re always meeting builders, growers, engineers, and operators who want to change how food is produced. If you don’t see a role that fits yet, apply anyway. Tell us where you shine, and we’ll reach out when there’s a match. We move fast, we prototype faster, and we ship real systems that feed real communities.

This is a creative and rigorous environment. You’ll collaborate across hardware, software, and operations to design, test, and deploy automation and grow systems that actually get used. If you love solving problems, learning new things, and getting it done—let’s talk.

Where You Might Contribute

  • Design, build, and iterate on products (automation, robotics, hydroponics, and software)
  • Help deploy Canobi systems in the field: plan, assemble, test, and document
  • Partner with growers and clients to solve real-world challenges
  • Write clear specs, SOPs, and playbooks others can follow
  • Improve quality, safety, and reliability across everything we ship
  • Share knowledge—demos, posts, and short videos are a plus

Must Have

  • Genuine passion for controlled-environment agriculture and/or automation
  • Clear written and verbal communication (English; French is a plus)
  • High agency: you spot problems and fix them without waiting
  • Comfort switching between hands-on hardware and software tools
  • Respect for checklists, safety, and documentation
  • Ability to Work In Canada

Nice to have

  • Experience with any of: hydroponics, HVAC, PLC/IoT, sensors, pumps, lighting, 3D printing, robotics, or Python/Arduino
  • Field deployment, commissioning, or technical support background
  • CAD/3D (Fusion/Onshape/SolidWorks) or basic electronics (DC power, fuses, AWG)
  • Content creation: write-ups, how-tos, or short demo videos
  • Additional languages (French, Arabic, Inuktitut, Cree, Spanish, etc.)

What's great in the job?

  • Work that ships: your ideas become hardware/software people use.
  • Small, sharp team; zero “big-company theatre.”
  • Real ownership and autonomy; flexible hours; we're all human beings with busy lives and stuff happens
  • Learn across disciplines—agronomy, automation, robotics, and ops
  • Canadian designed & built products with global impact
  • Mission that matters: food security for communities
